Whether you prefer more speed or more puncture resistance, both the LiteSkin and SnakeSkin versions of Schwalbe's Rocket Ron Tire are designed to take advantage of a 27. 5-inch wheel's hybrid pedigree. The Rocket Ron's PaceStar Triple Compound maximizes rolling resistance for straight-on, cross-country mashing and grippy cornering for navigating technical courses -- all while keeping overall weight in a climber-friendly range. Depending on your choice, you'll get a faster, lower weight race tire or a tire that can train and race with more puncture resistance. The LiteSkin option is, well, lighter. It's also faster rolling and weighs a claimed 60 grams fewer per tire. The SnakeSkin option is admittedly heavier, but it gives much better puncture resistance, especially in the monofilament sidewalls, and the Tubeless Easy SnakeSkin makes for a smooth, hassle-free conversion to a tubeless setup. Please note that Schwalbe's recommended maximum load is 243lbs (110kg) .
